This New Orleans styled Modern Luxury Wedding has all the bells and whistles of a truly memorable event. With a traditional Catholic ceremony and a glorious celebration at the historic Buras Auditorium in the couple’s hometown of Buras, LA. Dreamed up and solely planned by the bride herself, it was a formal black and white affair to celebrate love and happiness.
I met the bride Nikki at a bridal show a few years back and she loved my work. A year later, and we met at another bridal show. This time she was very interested but still wasn’t ready to book me. Then one day, she called and said, “I need you!” and the rest is history.
Nikki and Brent’s wedding day started like most, with bridal prep consisting of hair and make up galore. To achieve the look she wanted, the bride chose Cody Royal for hair styling and Sade’ Isadare as her make up artist. Nikki said she was amazed to see all her friends transform into the most beautiful women she’d ever seen. Each bridesmaid was wearing a floor length black satan gown and their matching jewelry, gifted by the bride. She was wearing a stunning ivory and lace mermaid style wedding dress by Eve of Milady. She said her dress shopping experience had been stressful, yet exciting. After careful thought, in the end, she was pleased she went with her gut and got the dress she really wanted.
The ceremony took place in Port Sulphur, LA at the quaint St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. They arrived at the church in a down pour of rain, but the bride was dry thanks to the football huddle of groomsmen who came to her rescue. Walking down the aisle with her father, arm in arm, Nikki said she was feeling so thankful to have him by her side. Awaiting her at the alter was her groom, full of emotion and tears falling down his face at the sight of her. It was a touching moment to witness such overwhelming love between two people. As the ceremony concluded with a kiss, spirits were high in anticipation for the celebration that was about to go down.
The reception space was adorned in all things black and white, just how the bride had envisioned. When she saw the room for the first time, she couldn’t believe she was seeing her ideas and hard work come to life. The tables were draped in black table cloths, some with large floral centerpieces and some with silver candelabras. In the middle of the space was an arbor with tons of fairy lights that held the show stopping 5 tiered wedding cake suspending from the top by crystal chains. It was a marvel to say the least. The purple up-lighting casted a sexy glow over the whole room making it impossible to not feel the good vibes. The night went on in a tizzy of dancing and everyone having a great time marking this joyous occasion.
Please help me in congratulating the happy couple on their marriage. May you continue to grow together as you take on this next chapter of your lives. Lots of love Nikki and Brent!
